CAR !!!!

After fighting the car to replace the low beam head light, we have light again but then we didn't have any electronics. Apparently the tricky Honda people who placed the battery in the way of getting to the bulbs and make you try to go through the wheel well thought of everything. I couldn't get through the wheel well because I didn't want to break all of the PLASTIC screws or connectors that hold the crud guards in place and so the battery had to come out. Little did I know that in so doing I would LOCK up the navigation system and basically shut down the electronics of the car. No stereo, fan adjustments, etc. So for the last couple of days nothing. You have to have a pin code to unlock the magical system. Well, we didn't have it.

Tried to call the dealership and get some help. Got some advice and it didn't work. Went to the dealership and had them try the same thing . . . didn't work. Service worker crawled into the truck and asked us not to shut in the truck and got some numbers to call Honda with. Then waited on hold with Honda . . . but no luck because we didn't have the "alpha" of the alpha-numeric code. We were then told we could pay $90 to have then rip out the stereo to look for the serial number or we could do it and then call then back with the number. Upon asking how would one go about ripping into the dash to take it out we found the complete alpha-numeric serial number on the sticker visible on the under side of the stereo. SWEET ! ! ! Called Honda again, waited much, much less time on hold (sweet again) and got a code that worked and now the world sounds a lot like whatever is floating through the airwaves instead of the thoughts in my head, even sweeter.

The End.
